Located beside Decathlon at Braehead, Soul Padel has quickly established itself as one of Scotland's leading padel destinations. Designed to offer more than just court time, the facility focuses on creating a welcoming environment where members, spectators and organised groups can socialise before and after play.
As part of the wider development, UrbanXscapes was appointed to design and install a dedicated covered social space that would provide year-round comfort while integrating seamlessly with the club's container-based facility.
The result is a fully enclosed commercial pergola and glass room that has become one of the most popular and frequently used areas within the venue.
The Client Brief
Modern padel clubs are becoming social destinations as much as sporting facilities. Creating comfortable areas where members can gather, watch matches and spend time together has become a key part of the overall customer experience.
Soul Padel required a solution that would:
• Provide shelter throughout the year in Scotland's challenging weather conditions.
• Create a comfortable social space for members and spectators.
• Integrate seamlessly with the existing clubhouse container.
• Maintain an open and welcoming feel while offering protection from the elements.
• Support group events, coaching sessions and social gatherings.
• Complement the wider site design and construction programme.
The structure also needed to be delivered alongside the wider development works, requiring coordination with the project team from an early stage.
The Solution
We supplied and installed a bespoke 6m x 3m commercial pergola complete with full-height sliding glass doors, integrated infrared heating and LED lighting.
To achieve a seamless finish, bespoke aluminium flashings were designed and installed to ensure the structure remained flush with the adjoining container building, creating the appearance of a single integrated facility.
The completed installation included:

Commercial Delivery & Project Coordination
UrbanXscapes was involved from the early stages of the development, working alongside Ilex Project Management and the wider construction team throughout the project.

While the wider construction works were delivered by the principal project team, UrbanXscapes worked closely with all stakeholders to ensure the pergola installation integrated seamlessly into the overall development.
